I strive to capture a moment. Paintings are in everything I see. I am constantly aware of value, positive and negative space, and color formulas.

I am a realist painter working primarily in oil. I love working with oils because of the smooth, rich realistic colors they allow. Natural wood is my preferred surface. The beauty of the grain is inspiring and I try to leave exposed wood whenever possible.

The vision I have for my current work is to have my subject painted so realistic that is looks like a photo cut and pasted to a wood surface.

Although I am originally from Houston, Texas, I spent much of my childhood in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After high school, I attended Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where I earned a BFA in Painting. Today, I live in Houston, TX with my husband, our two girls, and new baby boy. I teach high school art and continue my personal artistic pursuits after the bell rings.
